Just Released - New Dashboard, Improved Search & More

Caruso Capital Raising Dashboard

This release adds a capital raise dashboard to the Manager Console, the first in a new Dashboards section, so you can see how each raise is tracking on one screen. It also upgrades search to cover eleven record types from a single field, and brings the full picture of fees and costs to every unit class.

Track Every Capital Raise from One Dashboard

Reporting on how a raise is tracking has meant exporting expressions of interest (EOIs) and rebuilding the figures in a spreadsheet. The new Capital Raise Status dashboard puts expressed against converted for any raise on one screen, built from the EOIs your team already records in the book build.

  • The raise at a glance. Six headline figures show total expressed, total converted, conversion rate, remaining, active EOIs and average EOI size for the raise you select.
  • How the book has built. A cumulative chart tracks expressed and converted amounts by the date each EOI was received.
  • Every stage of the pipeline. Expressed value and EOI count sit against each of the nine pipeline stages, and you can narrow the whole dashboard to one or more EOI owners.
  • Ready to share. Download the dashboard as a PDF with your logo, the filters applied and an as-at time for the data, for an investment committee pack or a Monday update.

Capital Raise Status is the first of four dashboards, with three more coming soon: Overview, a snapshot of your funds and investors; Capital Raise Activity, the emails, calls and meetings behind each raise; and Business Activity, your team's work across the whole business.

Global Search Across the Manager Console

Global Search in Caruso

Finding a record used to mean choosing a category, then searching inside it, so pulling up one investor's entity, contact and holdings took three separate lookups. Search now sits open in the Manager Console's top bar and returns results as you type.

  • Eleven record types, one query. Investing entities, contacts, tasks, funds, capital raises, holdings, classes, holding movements, redemption batches, adviser firms and licensees come back together, grouped by type and limited to the records you have access to.
  • Narrow with a click. Filter chips show how many matches your search found in each record type, so you can narrow the results to one type.
  • Jump straight there. Your recently opened records appear before you type, and typing a page name such as Investing Entities offers a "Go to" shortcut to that page.
  • Built for the keyboard. Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) from anywhere, arrow through the results and press Enter to open one.

Investor and adviser queries get answered faster, and your team spends less time hunting for records. Because when a registry and investor CRM records sit in one system, a single search reaches both.

Fees and Costs: The Full Picture on Every Unit Class

Cost and Fees in Caruso

A fund's cost structure runs well beyond its management fee, and investors and auditors expect to see all of it. Unit classes in Caruso already record management fees. Performance fees, transaction fees, operating costs, indirect costs and establishment costs now sit alongside them, so the full picture is in one place.

  • Six categories. Management Fees, Performance Fees, Transaction Fees, Operating Costs, Indirect Costs and Establishment Costs.
  • The calculation methods you already use. Each fee is either a percentage of holding value per annum or a fixed amount apportioned evenly across its effective period, and you can set a separate rate for investors who redeem during a statement period.
  • A Fees and Costs tab on every unit class. Each fee shows its category, effective period, notes and who added it, with a category filter to narrow the list. Periods can't overlap within the same category and fee type.
  • The full figure on periodic and exit statements. All six categories now feed into the fees and costs figure investors see on them.
  • A fee audit trail. Download a workbook from any periodic or exit statement batch showing the category, rate and period applied to each holding when the statements were generated, so you can answer fee queries from auditors and investors.

You can show investors and auditors exactly what each class charges, with every fee traceable to its rate, period and who added it.

Improvements & Refinements

This release also includes the following improvements:

  • Reports as formatted Excel workbooks - Twelve reports, including Holdings, Holding Movements and Applications, now download as formatted workbooks across one, several or all funds.
  • Capital account statements - Issue a capital account statement for every holding. Caruso pre-fills each one with the holding's capital movements, and you can adjust any figure or add your own accounting lines to match your books.
  • Pre-send checks on email batches - The batch header and confirm dialog now show the audience, tags and category, so admins can confirm every detail before an email goes out.
  • Verification history in the audit log - Address verification, accreditation, PEP screening and identity verification results are now also recorded in the audit log against each investing entity and related party.
  • Audit log access - A new Audit log Read permission sets which roles can see the audit log and its CSV report. Read-only, CRM Admin (Editor) and Fund Accountant roles no longer see it by default.
  • AU Tax Packs by unit class - For Australian funds, create an AU Tax Pack batch for any group of unit classes, and choose whether income or capital drives how the tax components are apportioned to investors.
  • Attachments for the Fund Admin Agent - Attach screenshots and scans to a Fund Admin Agent conversation, and ask the agent about documents stored on related parties and investing entities.
  • Richer email formatting - Add text colour, cell and section shading, styled tables and headings in the email composer, so investor emails match your brand.
