Just Released - Investor Application Flow and Communication Preferences

The application is where investors form their first real impression of your portal, and every extra click or unclear step shapes how it feels to interact with your fund. This release reworks the investor portal application flow so more investors finish in one sitting, and gives your team far more control over which investor contacts receive which emails.
A Smoother Investor Application
The application flow inside Caruso's investor portal has been reworked so investors move at their own pace and always know where they are. Every change below removes a point where investors used to hesitate, backtrack, or drop off.
- A cleaner, more polished design. The application flow has had a visual refresh, with clearer step icons, tighter step subtitles and redesigned bank account details, so investors always know where they are and move through a flow that looks and feels more modern.
- Investors never lose their place. Any step in the "To complete" sidebar is now clickable, and the back button returns to the previous step, so investors work at their own pace instead of starting over.
- Returning investors breeze through. Details already on file now appear as read-only rather than being silently skipped, so investors confirm what you hold and keep moving, with no re-keying.
- Optional Bank Account Document. A per-tenant toggle hides the "Verify your bank account" upload step, so you can strip friction out of the flow while keeping your admin approval workflow fully intact.
- Clarity on what's required from the investor. Optional fields are clearly labelled "(optional)" across tax details, bank accounts, entity creation and identity verification, and the login and create-account links are bigger and easier to find, so first-time investors know exactly where to go.
Together these shorten the path from interest to committed capital, and a polished first impression builds the kind of brand credibility that makes investors and advisers confident backing your fund again. That is what good investor onboarding does.
More Granular Communication Controls

Until now, admins managed investor communications with a single on or off toggle. Caruso now splits communications into clear categories and lists, so the right emails reach the right contacts and marketing carries its own one-click unsubscribe.
- Control by category. Decide which contacts on an investing entity receive each type of communication across four categories: Orders & Holding Movements, Distributions, Holding & Tax Statements, and Updates & Reports. These give so everyone gets what's relevant and nothing they don't.
- Account-level lists. Portal Access & Compliance stays always on so investors never miss a statutory notice, while Marketing can be toggled freely.
- No more all-or-nothing. Every contact's preferences are editable, and a coverage warning flags any category on an investing entity with nobody subscribed, so critical communications never slip through the cracks.
- One-click, compliant unsubscribe. Every marketing email carries a no-login unsubscribe that meets Gmail and Yahoo bulk-sender rules, so your sends stay deliverable and compliant.
This builds on our earlier communication preferences release, giving your team the precision to treat transactional communications and promotional updates as the different things they are.
Improvements & Refinements
This release also includes the following improvements:
- Investor emails that build confidence - We have refreshed the emails your investors receive so they read clearly and reflect well on your fund:
- Account emails - rewritten so the action each one needs (activate an account, reset a password, confirm access) is clear and up front.
- Allocation and document alerts - now lead with what's happened and any action needed, so investors know where things stand without logging in.
- Secondary market emails - the buy and sell order emails have been redesigned.
- Unit transfer notices - now show the transaction classification, so investors have the full context of the movement.
- Email address changes - investors who update their email get a purpose-built "Confirm your updated email address" message instead of a confusing welcome note.
- Fewer stalled bank-account approvals. When a bank account can't be verified, the email, portal notification and resubmit page now ask the investor to add a new bank account rather than re-upload a document against the existing bank account. This makes for a cleaner audit trail of the investor's submissions.
- Clearer activation and password-reset messages. Improved the error messages shown during account activation and password reset, so investors get a clearer prompt when something goes wrong.
- Support investors with confidence. When your team views the portal as an investor, account details and accreditation forms now explain in a tooltip why they are unavailable, so support staff answering investor questions can tell exactly why a field is greyed out.
