Just Released - Bulk Unit Issuance

At Caruso, we understand that fund managers face a persistent operational challenge: as transaction volumes grow, manual registry processes become increasingly unsustainable. For teams managing high-velocity funds or processing periodic bulk issuances, the administrative burden of creating individual unit issuances can consume valuable hours that should be devoted to strategic activities.
Our new bulk unit issuance feature addresses this challenge directly, transforming high-volume registry management from a time-consuming bottleneck into a streamlined, validated workflow that scales seamlessly with your fund's growth.
Processing Large Transaction Volumes
The bulk unit issuance feature centres on a CSV import workflow designed for both efficiency and data integrity. Rather than manually creating dozens or hundreds of individual issuances, finance teams can now upload comprehensive unit issuance data in a prescribed format.
The import template accommodates all essential issuance details: capital raise identifiers, investing entities, issuance dates, unit quantities, pricing information, optional transaction tags for categorisation, and notification preferences. This structure ensures that teams can prepare and review data in their preferred environment before committing it to the registry.
Data Validation and Error Prevention
Data quality is paramount in registry management. The system validates both template format and data integrity before processing any imports, displaying clear, actionable error messages that specify affected rows and columns. This validation layer catches potential issues early, preventing data quality problems from entering the registry and ensuring that teams can correct errors efficiently.
Beyond format validation, the system verifies data relationships and business logic, ensuring that each issuance references valid entities, capital raises, and unit classes. This approach to validation maintains the integrity of your registry whilst enabling high-volume processing.
Automated Back-Filling for Complete Data Integrity
When processing bulk issuances, maintaining complete transaction histories is essential for both operational transparency and regulatory compliance. Caruso automatically creates underlying allocation requests and payment records for each issuance in the batch, eliminating manual data entry.
This automated back-filling ensures that your registry remains internally consistent, with every unit issuance supported by the necessary underlying records. Finance teams can trace any issuance back through its complete transaction history, satisfying both internal governance requirements and external audit expectations.
Flexible, Dual Approval Workflows
Different organisations require different levels of oversight for bulk operations. The bulk issuance feature incorporates a dual approval workflow that allows fund managers to separate creation and confirmation responsibilities.
Admin users can be granted permission to create and prepare bulk imports whilst restricting final confirmation rights to senior team members. The preview interface enables a thorough review of all imported data, with search and navigation capabilities that facilitate detailed examination of individual records before final processing.
Additionally, reviewers can access the original imported CSV file within the platform, enabling proper sign-off procedures and supporting compliance documentation requirements. This separation of duties ensures appropriate oversight without creating unnecessary procedural friction.
Controlled Investor Communications
Not every unit issuance requires immediate investor notification. The bulk import workflow provides granular control over investor communications, allowing teams to determine whether to send email notifications and whether to publish unit issuance statements to the investor portal.
This flexibility proves particularly valuable when processing historical data migrations, backdated transactions, or situations where separate communication channels are preferred. Fund managers maintain complete control over the timing and method of investor updates, ensuring communications align with their broader investor relations strategy.
Additional Platform Enhancements
Beyond bulk unit issuance, this release includes several complementary improvements to registry and reporting capabilities:
Fund Holdings Report - Download comprehensive PDF summaries of fund holdings directly from the Reports section. These reports provide clear visibility into current or historical registry states, segmented by unit class, streamlining both fund administration and audit processes.
Capital Raise Unit Class Assignment - Optionally associate unit classes with capital raises to streamline issuance workflows. This enhancement pre-populates unit class information during allocation and reconciliation processes, reducing administrative effort and minimising the risk of unit class misallocation whilst establishing the foundation for automated bulk issuance capabilities.
Investor Portal Task Prioritisation - Tasks generated from investor portal actions are now automatically marked as high priority, enabling fund managers to filter and quickly address time-sensitive investor requests. This enhancement ensures optimal response times and supports superior investor experiences by surfacing urgent matters immediately.
